is delighted to announce the acquisition of Lucia Hierro's Descorazonada by The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). This piece is part of Lucia’s Gates series of sculptural works made in response to her neighborhoods in uptown Manhattan and the Bronx, which she introduced as part of her show Marginal Costs at the Aldrich last year. This particular piece, and the others pictured, were featured in Lucia’s beautiful outdoor installation at Various Small Fires in the Fall of 2021 titled Gates: LA.
